A work «Development and application of spectrometer-telescopes to monitoring of high energy charged radiation on orbit near Earth» nominated for the award of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for the development and implementation of innovative technologies
College of the State Space Agency of Ukraine at the September meeting unanimously nominated this work for the award of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for the development and implementation of innovative technologies. The work has been developed over the past ten years. It has been selected from a number of projects in competition with the leading enterprises of space industry of Ukraine. Authors of this work represent Kharkiv National University, Institute for Scintillation Materials of NAS of Ukraine, and the Ukrainian rocket-space industry.
Satellite spectrometer of electrons and protons named STEP-F is complex and hi-tech device; it includes in particular scintillation layer of CsI:Tl crystals. As it seen from the photograph D3 layer consists of a miniature sensors and photodiodes.
A high level of technical design used at creation of satellite telescope STEP-F has been confirmed by 11 patents of Ukraine, Russian Federation and former USSR. Construction of STEP-F and results of its testing were published in 39 scientific papers. Using STEP-F interesting scientific results concerning the structure of radiation belts of Earth has been obtained and published in 11 papers at journals and proceeding of conferences.
