The World Day of Science in 2015 ISC STC

November 14 (Saturday) 2015 at STC «Institute for Single Crystals» NAS of Ukraine will be held events dedicated to the celebration of the World Science Day for Peace and Development, which is observed annually on 10 November.

12:20-13:05 Lecture «The nanoluminophors: properties and biomedical applications»

Speaker: member of NAS of Ukraine, prof. Yuriy Malyukin.

In the lecture the current state of the use of fluorescent labels to address the pressing problems of biology and medicine will be  analysed. Particular attention will be paid for nanoluminofors, multifunctional nanoclusters by which one can get unique results: drugs targeted delivery, protection of living organisms in high radiation, the selective destruction of cancer cells.

Excursion to the scientific and technical exhibition of STC «Institute for Single Crystals» NAS of Ukraine. Visitors can see scientific developments and materials produced at the Institute, hold in the hands  a variety of sapphires, rubies and other artificial crystals; see a working model for medical devices and monitoring security.

Excursion to research laboratories. During the tour visitors will see how chemicals security monitoring laboratory looks like, see its modern equipment, and visit the  modern laboratory of microwave organic synthesis.
